 Comprehensive Support 

For organizations looking to fully adopt the Portal to the Public approach, we offer a comprehensive package that includes a custom workshop, extensive follow-up support, and a copy of the Implementation Manual and Catalog of Professional Development Elements for your organization’s use. 

Our two-day, train-the-trainer workshops are fun, interactive, and backed by research. Workshops are personalized to meet your goals but typically cover the following areas: 1) the Portal to the Public framework and key strategies of the approach; 2) training in how to facilitate professional development in science communication for scientists, and 3) development of a unique organizational plan for the applying Portal to the Public framework.  Please reach out to Anna at anna.johnson@freechoicelearning.org to learn more about workshops and how they might support your organization’s efforts.

Fee: Starting at $6,999 (does not include: facilitator travel costs (flights/mileage, lodging, and rental car if needed); venue or AV rentals for workshop if needed; meals or refreshments for workshop participants.)

Individualized Coaching 

For organizations looking to receive personalized guidance in one or more specific areas of the Portal to the Pubic approach, we offer an individualized coaching package. After you complete a pre-survey and initial conversation with us to outline your specific goals, we offer up to five hours of coaching via videoconference to make recommendations based on the experiences of other Portal to the Public organizations, help you plan concrete steps,  and troubleshoot challenges. This package includes a copy of the Implementation Manual and Catalog of Professional Development Elements for your organization’s use.

Initial Planning Support 

For organizations who just want assistance in getting their Portal to the Public program started, we offer resources and feedback to support the initial planning process. You’ll receive worksheets that guide the planning process (either an overall organizational adoption of Portal to the Public, or a professional development program for scientists). After you complete the worksheets, you’ll receive written feedback plus one hour of discussion via videoconference to help you plan next steps. This package includes a copy of the Implementation Manual and Catalog of Professional Development Elements for your organization’s use.
